My Home city

Plovdiv

The Bulgarian town of Plovdiv is situated along the two banks of the river Maritza with its slow water, and also on a number of picturesque hills (called 'tepe' by the local people) that are part of the town's charm and beauty.

Plovdiv is located in the Southern/Central part of Bulgaria. Being the second largest city in the country, it has a population of 850'000. There is a kind of magic in Plovdiv in all seasons. The town is always unique and fascinating. In the winter it is fabuously white; in the spring it is covered with green and flowers, in the summer it is almost unreal in the ghastly heat of Thracia, in the autumn it is calm and placid, with ripe figs and sweet grapes dropping into soft foliage... Plovdiv can hardly be described in simple words... One should see it and feel its unique atmosphere in order to understand it.

Dr. Ivan Chomakov is the Mayor of Plovdiv since October 1999. Born in Plovdiv in 1953, he graduated from the Medical School in the city in 1979. Dr. Chomakov specialized in surgery under the guidance of Dr. Chirkov, one of the top surgeons in Bulgaria. He has 32 publications in the field.

Dr. Chomakov is elected Member of the Parliament and is a regional leader of the Union of the Democratic Forces in Plovdiv.

R&B princess Rihanna arrived Friday in Sofia for a concert, which is part of the European tour of the star.

Rihanna is accompanied by a team of 37 people, 11 of whom will join her on the open-air stage at Alexander Batenberg Square Friday night.

The organizers from Bulgaria's third mobile operator Vivatel announced the event is free for all who want to see the pop idol.

The 19-year-old star is expected to sing her top hit Umbrella and other fan favourites in an one-hour glamour show.

About 300 guards are protecting the singer, who is the biggest contemporary pop star visiting Bulgaria according to music industry experts.

Rihanna received her big break at the age of 15 when one of her friends introduced her to music producer Evan Rogers, who was vacationing in singer's home Barbados.

Rogers, along with his partner, Carl Sturken, helped Rihanna record material in the US, which was sent to various recording companies. One copy of Rihanna's work was sent to Jay-Z, who eventually signed her to Def Jam Records.

Currently, the singer is working with great stars such as Justin Timberlake and the hit producer Timbaland.

The Mystery Of Bulgarian Voices

Here is some more about Bulgarian folklore.
Bulgaria is usually divided into 6 or 7 folklore regions. Each of them has its history and local characteristics. The people wear different traditional costumes, sing different songs. It is very hard to imagine that in such a small country as Bulgaria there can be so many differences, but yes – there are. A big part of the traditional Bulgarian folklore has been saved through the centuries and is still being studied and explored. In the Following video is presented just small but beautiful part if Bulgarian folk treasure, it is performed by one of the most popular vocal group we have The Mystery Of Bulgarian Voices.

Big Big Girl

Something you should know about Big Big Girl Lyrics

Title: Emilia - Big Big Girl lyrics

Artist: Emilia

Emilia - Big Big Girl Lyrics

I'm a big big girl
In a big big world
It's not a big big thing if you leave me
But I do do feel that
I do do will miss you much
Miss you much...
I can see the first leaf falling
It's all yellow and nice
It's so very cold outside
Like the way I'm feeling inside
I'm a big big girl
In a big big world
It's not a big big thing if you leave me
But I do do feel that
I do do will miss you much
Miss you much...
Outside it's now raining
And tears are falling from my eyes
Why did it have to happen
Why did it all have to end
I'm a big big girl
In a big big world
It's not a big big thing if you leave me
But I do do feel that
I do do will miss you much
Miss you much...
I have your arms around me ooooh like fire
But when I open my eyes
You're gone...
I'm a big big girl
In a big big world
It's not a big big thing if you leave me
But I do do feel that
I do do will miss you much
Miss you much...
I'm a big big girl
In a big big world
It's not a big big thing if you leave me
But I do feel I will miss you much
Miss you much...
